TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
Namaste!
The Argos Trekking Nepal team welcomes you to the gates of a fascinating world. From the moment you arrive at the airport, you will receive a traditional warm welcome before being transferred to your hotel, where the charm of Nepal will immediately envelop you.
To celebrate this first day, a welcome dinner will be hosted for you. It will be the perfect opportunity to meet your local guide, whose stories and advice will immerse you in the vibrant soul of this legendary capital. This moment of sharing and conviviality serves as a true gateway to the adventure that awaits.
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will meet your cultural guide. We will begin our immersion with the majestic Swayambhunath Stupa, perched on a hill overlooking the valley. This sacred site, nicknamed the “Monkey Temple,” is a true spiritual gem steeped in a mystical atmosphere.
We will take the time for a peaceful lunch on-site before heading to Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world. The afternoon will be free for you to wander at your own pace through the alleys bustling with pilgrims. At the end of the day, we will meet at the reception for a friendly dinner around the stupa, under the evening lights.
This morning, after packing your bags and enjoying breakfast, we leave the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu for Patan, the ancient royal city of Lalitpur.
We will visit its historic Durbar Square, a jewel of Newar architecture, before having a unique experience: a Tibetan singing bowl meditation. The ancestral vibrations and sounds of these bowls will offer you a moment of deep relaxation and spiritual reconnection. After lunch on-site, we will resume our journey towards the highlands of Nagarkot.
A true balcony over the Himalayas, Nagarkot is a mountain resort renowned for its breathtaking views. Amidst green hills, deep valleys, and pine forests, you will discover a picturesque rural atmosphere. It is here that one finds one of the most comprehensive panoramas of the ice giants: on a clear day, you can admire 8 of the 13 Himalayan ranges of Nepal, including Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, and even the Everest range.
Check-in, dinner, and overnight at your hotel in Nagarkot to admire the sunset.
Start your day with a spectacular sunrise over the Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan chain.
For hikers: We will begin a mostly downhill trek towards Changu Narayan. The wide and easy trail passes through dense pine forests and traditional villages, offering an authentic glimpse into rural life. It’s an ideal introduction to Nepali trekking, blending natural and cultural heritage.
Changu Narayan: This temple, the oldest in the Kathmandu Valley (7th century), is a UNESCO World Heritage site. After visiting the site and enjoying a pleasant lunch, we will drive towards Namo Buddha (approx. 29 km).
Namo Buddha: This high sacred place is famous for the legend of the Buddha who, in a previous life, out of pure compassion offered his own flesh to a starving tigress and her cubs. Besides its spiritual significance, the site offers a peaceful retreat facing the mountains.
For total immersion, you will spend the night at the monastery’s guesthouse. You will share the serene atmosphere of the place and enjoy a vegetarian meal with the monks.
At dawn, you will have the privilege of attending the Puja (morning prayer) at the monastery. Immersed in the chants and rituals, you will enjoy a moment of meditation before breakfast. We will then take the road towards Panauti.
Panauti: This picturesque medieval town is one of the best-preserved in Nepal. Situated at the sacred confluence of the Rosi and Punyamati rivers, it seems suspended in time. You will admire its rich Newari architectural heritage and its age-old temples. A local curiosity: the town is said to be built on a single block of rock, which gives it a legendary resistance to earthquakes.
After lunch, we will transfer to Bhaktapur, the “City of Devotees.” A UNESCO World Heritage site, it is arguably the most fascinating city in the valley.
You will arrive in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. You can then enjoy a leisurely stroll through the cobblestone alleys, discovering artisan potters and majestic squares. Dinner will be in the historic quarter to savor the city’s unique nocturnal atmosphere. Overnight at the hotel.
This day is dedicated to an in-depth exploration of Bhaktapur, the most medieval of the valley’s cities. Without the stress of travel, you can savor the Newar art of living at your own pace.
At lunchtime, you will have the opportunity to taste the famous “Juju Dhau,” the royal yogurt typical of Bhaktapur. The afternoon is free for you to shop for handicrafts or simply observe local life from a café terrace.
A second night in the historic charm of the same hotel.
Today, we leave the Kathmandu Valley and head towards Bandipur. This journey is a true immersion into the rural landscapes of Nepal: we will drive alongside rushing rivers and pass through lively villages where we will make several stops to enjoy the panoramic views.
Bandipur: An ancient trading post on the route between Tibet and India, this magnificent Newar village seems frozen in time. Its cobblestone streets and elegantly designed houses offer a peaceful and timeless atmosphere. From the village, the view of the Himalayan range, especially the majestic Manaslu (8,163 m), is absolutely superb.
In the afternoon, we will take a short, leisurely walk in the village’s surroundings, famous for its orange orchards and green hills.
Dinner and overnight stay in the authentic setting of your hotel in Bandipur.
Today, we descend from the hills of Bandipur to the Terai plains to reach Lumbini, one of the most sacred places in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it is here that Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Prince Siddhartha Gautama in 623 B.C., who would become the Buddha.
Upon arrival, you will discover a site of absolute serenity, where spirituality and history converge.
The Treasures of Lumbini:
The atmosphere here is conducive to contemplation: colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind, chants of pilgrims, and meditation areas will allow you to connect with the origins of Buddhism.
Dinner and overnight in a comfortable hotel to enjoy the nocturnal peace of the site.
These two days are dedicated to a deep immersion in the unique atmosphere of Lumbini. Rather than just skimming the surface, you will have time to truly feel the peace that emanates from this global pilgrimage site.
On the agenda for these two days:
These days are a parenthesis of absolute calm, an invitation to inner connection and the discovery of the Dharma, far from the hustle and bustle of the world.
Meals and nights at the same hotel for total comfort.
This morning, after breakfast, we leave the serenity of Lumbini to head to Chitwan National Park. Located at the foot of the Himalayan foothills, Chitwan literally means the “Heart of the Jungle” in Sanskrit. As Nepal’s first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage site, it protects one of the richest ecosystems in Asia.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed at your lodge. The landscape here changes dramatically: the mountains give way to a mosaic of Sal forests, vast grasslands, and winding rivers (Rapti and Narayani).
An Exceptional Wildlife Sanctuary: Chitwan is home to spectacular fauna that you will begin to discover. It is one of the last refuges for the one-horned Asian rhinoceros and the majestic Royal Bengal tiger. You may also spot leopards, sloth bears, and impressive gharial crocodiles. For bird enthusiasts, the park is a paradise with over 500 species of birds.
Cultural Immersion: In the late afternoon, we will set out to discover the Tharu culture, the indigenous people of the region. You will visit their traditional villages with unique architecture and discover their crafts.
Dinner at the lodge and your first night to the sounds of the jungle.
Today, we dive into the heart of Chitwan National Park for a full day of exploration.
A Morning of Water and Wildlife: Aboard traditional dugout canoes, we will glide silently down the river for an immersive experience. Accompanied by our local guides, who are true passionate experts, you will discover the secrets of this exceptional ecosystem. Keep your binoculars handy: this is the perfect time to observe colorful birds and the impressive gharial crocodiles basking on the riverbanks.
We will continue our exploration on foot or by jeep to try and spot the majestic one-horned rhinoceros. Along the way, we will pass by the elephant information center before returning to the lodge for lunch.
An Afternoon of Relaxation and Culture: After a well-deserved nap and some free time to enjoy the peaceful setting of the lodge, we will meet up in the late afternoon. We will visit a traditional Tharu village to learn about their unique way of life, in perfect harmony with nature.
To conclude this magical day, we will settle by the Rapti River to watch the sunset with a drink in hand. A moment of absolute serenity before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Overnight at the same lodge.
After breakfast, we hit the road again, heading towards the mountains in the direction of Pokhara. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a relaxing lunch by Phewa Lake, facing the Annapurna massif.
We will then continue our journey to the village of Pandeli, an authentic and unspoiled place where we will settle for two nights at Shanti Om Stay. More than just accommodation, this place offers a unique experience combining local immersion and positive-impact tourism. You will be housed in eco-friendly homes built from natural materials or in comfortable tipis, in the heart of a peaceful setting between the jungle, mountains, and valleys.
Here, you will live at the village’s pace. Depending on the season, Pandeli offers a multitude of activities:

A timeless interlude, where human exchange is at the heart of the adventure.
We begin the day with a moment of grace: an outdoor meditation session in the heart of Pandeli’s lush nature. It is the perfect moment to breathe in the pure mountain air and savor the absolute calm before hitting the road again.
After a hearty village breakfast, we will be transferred by mini-bus to Pokhara. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel before sharing a relaxing lunch by Phewa Lake.
The afternoon will be dedicated to engagement: we will visit the WOW (Women of the World) shop. This remarkable project supports local craftsmanship and the empowerment of Nepalese women. Here you can find unique, ethical, and high-quality souvenirs.
The rest of the afternoon is free for you to stroll through the lively streets of Lake Side. At the end of the day, we will meet at the reception to go out together for dinner by the water. Overnight at the hotel.
At the first light of dawn, we will head to the Peace Pagoda. Built by Japanese monks, this gleaming white stupa overlooks Phewa Lake. From this vantage point, you will witness an unforgettable sunrise: the first rays set ablaze the peaks of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and the iconic silhouette of Machhapuchhare (the “Fishtail”).
After a meditation session in the sacred silence of the pagoda, we will descend back to the hotel for a delicious breakfast.
The morning continues with a visit to the International Mountain Museum, a fascinating place to understand the history of the Himalayan peaks and the people who inhabit them. Back at the lakeside, small boats will be waiting for us for an enchanting ride. This moment of floating on the calm waters will lead us to a restaurant on the shore for lunch.
The afternoon will be free to explore the shops of Lake Side or simply relax. At the end of the day, we will meet for a farewell dinner in Pokhara at a charming restaurant by the lake. A second night at the hotel will allow you to savor the tranquility of this valley before returning to the capital.
This morning, we head to Pokhara airport for a 25-minute scenic flight to Kathmandu with Buddha Air, Nepal’s leading airline. On a clear day, this short journey offers a final, breathtaking aerial view of the Himalayan range.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in the heart of the lively Thamel district. After lunch, around 3 PM, we will depart for Pashupatinath, the country’s most sacred Hindu site, located on the banks of the Bagmati River.
A Deep Spiritual Immersion: In this place where life and death coexist with a disarming serenity, you will discover ancient rituals. You will have the opportunity to meet the famous Sadhus, these ascetics with painted faces and long beards who have dedicated their lives to spirituality.
At sunset, we will witness the Aarti ceremony. This fascinating devotional ritual, combining the light of oil lamps, sacred chants, bells, and mantras, creates an atmosphere vibrant with fervor. A moment suspended in time, symbolizing the offering of light to the divine.
Return to the hotel for a free evening in the bustling energy of Thamel.
Aarti (or Arati) is a Hindu devotional ritual where light (from a ghee lamp or candle) is offered to deities, symbolizing spiritual illumination and the dispelling of darkness. It is often accompanied by chants and mantras, creating a deep connection between the devotee and the divine. The term also refers to the religious songs sung during this ceremony, which can take place daily, like the famous Aarti of Varanasi on the Ganges.
After a day rich in discoveries and emotions, your head will be full of memories and your heart light. A moment suspended in time, just like this enchanting country. Return to the hotel for a free evening.
After breakfast, a new day of discovery awaits. We will set off on foot from the hotel for a full immersion into authentic Kathmandu.
A Journey for the Senses: Accompanied by your guide, you will walk through the vibrant districts of Asan Tole and Indra Chowk. These ancient markets are the beating heart of the city: stalls of colorful spices, shimmering fabrics, tea merchants, and small temples hidden in the alleys create a unique and bustling atmosphere.
The Historic Center: We will then proceed to Durbar Square, the royal square and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will admire the Newar architecture, the ancient palaces, and, with a bit of luck, catch a glimpse of the Kumari, the living goddess. After a lunch break on-site facing the temples, we will have a quintessential experience: a return to Thamel by Rikshaw (cycle-rickshaw), a fun and memorable way to traverse the old city.
The afternoon and evening will be free for your last-minute souvenir shopping or to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Thamel one last time. A farewell dinner will conclude this magnificent adventure.
